Hey guys,
No article this weekend — I’m too depressed that the Warriors lost. Deep down I knew they weren’t a playoff team, but still, you hate to see a 39 point performance from Steph Curry get wasted.
I’ll be trying to channel my emotions into making a new podcast episode about salary caps in professional sports. I’ll be talking to my buddy Ben, who’s got a cool front office job with a professional sports team. We’ll be having a discussion about whether the salary cap in the NBA and the MLB should be tightened or eliminated altogether. Even if you don’t care about basketball or baseball, you should check it out — it’ll be an insightful look into the business of professional sports. The conversation will be posted either tonight or tomorrow. Make sure you don’t miss it by subscribing to our feed on Spotify or Apple Podcasts.
Also, I wanted to share with you all this short awards acceptance speech from Steve Jobs back in 1982. In it, he breaks down what sets “smart” people apart — it’s all about the experiences that you have as a human being. It definitely changed my view on what makes people intelligent.
Anyway, if you have any comments or any topics that you want to see covered in the newsletter, respond to this email.
Happy Sunday y’all.
